St. John the Baptist Boys' National School is located in Pennywell, Garryowen, Limerick.

The overall objectives of St. John the Baptist Boys' National School are to provide the best possible intellectual and emotional education for our boys, to foster within them a spirit of co-operation, a respect for each other and for their teachers, while enabling each and every pupil to fulfill his potential and cultivate an appreciation for lifelong learning.

Events & News

The Parents Club Cake Sale was a great success with lots of parents/guardians and friends attending on the day. A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped out and especially those that baked and donated cakes and buns! Photos coming soon!

SCHOOL CAKE SALE 2

7th Oct 2017!

Join us in the school for our Halloween Dress up and Cake Sale on Friday 27th Oct at 11:00 am. All Parents and Guardians are welcome!

We have 3 new teachers to get to know this September, Mr. Goggin, Mr. O'Driscoll and Ms. Kiely. This is a very exciting time for St. John the Baptist Boys' School and we hope that you and your son can be part of it!

Sept 2017- We have 3 big events for the boys this week of the 11th Sept. we have the 3 Bridges Walk on Wednesday, a Gaelic Football match on Friday and a treat for boys that contribute to their book rental!

Munster Rugby Visit- Munster players Mark Chisholm and Mike Sherry dropped in to the school last Thursday to take part in a coaching block and answer questions from the boys. The players also signed autographs and the boys were delighted!

Parents Open Day for new 2nd class students for September 2017!

An open day will be held on Wednesday 15th Feb at 12pm in the school. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits plus a chance to meet current parents, teachers and the Acting Principal. We hope to see you there!

 

Christmas Concerts 2016- the boys put on 3 Christmas shows this year and they all were a great success. The Juniors Classes produced a play called "Lights, Camel, Action" and the senior boys produced  an epic show called "Away with a Manger."

Rubgy Blitz 2016

The boys went to Thomond Park for a Rubgy Blitz. What a day! They played their hearts out and had a great time.
